Traditional Healers Fellowship Seminars:

Please note that seminars listed under this heading are only open to currently accredited Chartered Traditional Healers.

Please also note that since the 1st of July 2009 Update Seminars are held on the first Tuesday of each month and run for 2½ hours.


July 6th 2010. Commences at 6:30 p.m. Duration ± 2½ Hrs. Venue: CNT.

Subject: New viral diseases. This seminar presents the latest information on newly discovered strains of viral diseases, including swine flu, and presents their distribution, symptoms, severity and treatment. Lecturer T.C. Discipline: General.
 

August 3rd 2010. Commences at 6:30 p.m. Duration ± 2½ Hrs. Venue: CNT.

Subject: Worlds of Consciousness. The human brain is not one single entity, but is composed of numerous interconnecting structures, each of which has its own specific function and evolutionary history. This session presents the "Triune Brain" theory of Paul MacLean and compares it with the Shaman's multiple worlds of consciousness. Lecturer P.H. Discipline: General.
 

September 7th 2010. Commences at 6:30 p.m. Duration ± 2½ Hrs. Venue: CNT.

Subject: Myths, lies and misconceptions 1. Misinformation abounds in the health industry, both in modern medicine as well as the alternative medicine industry. Some of it arises apparently spontaneously through urban legend and the internet, while other misinformation is purposely intended to deceive. This lecture exposes its sources and motivation, and looks at the often sad and sometimes humorous results. Lecturer S.H. Discipline: General.
 

October 5th 2010. Commences at 6:30 p.m. Duration ± 2½ Hrs. Venue: CNT.

Subject: Myths, lies and misconceptions 2. An in-depth discussion on how to counter the medical and other health misinformation that has taken residence in the minds of clients and patients. Lecturer P.H. Discipline: General.
 

November 2nd 2010. Commences at 6:30 p.m. Duration ± 2½ Hrs. Venue: CNT.

Subject: Lesser known TCM practices. This seminar looks at some TCM practices that have not taken the West by storm and are relatively unknown outside China, Korea and Japan. Lecturer C.X. Discipline: TCM, General.
 

December 2010. There will be no update seminar in December.
The members' end of year social and barbeque will be held at the college on Sunday the 5th of December, commencing at 11:30 a.m.

College of Natural Therapies (S.A.) Courses:

Enrolments for the 2011 update course in Graeco-Arabic Medicine will open on the 15th of November 2010.
